Two Storey Garages by vignouse

Two Storey Garages

Rue de General de Gaulle (every French town worth its salt has one!) is also the main street in Paimpont village and is lined with three storey terraced houses on both sides. The houses on the north side have gardens that give on to the esplanade with the lake beyond and most of them have these two-storied garages. The space above is storage and/or a workshop... or just occasionally, guest accommodation - I like them, they have a lot of character.

This pops nicely on black.
Superb shot and processing as usual

That's exactly what we need..... for my husband's workshop/office!! They have a great idea there.

Great shot Richard. I would love to have a garage/workshop like that! Although if they have a lake view, I'm not sure much work would get done....

I love the lines in this photo, great use of B&W also.

I love this being b/w and especially that day sky as though you used a red filter.

Richard you never disappoint, your B&W's always inspire me!

@skipt07 I cut the blue channel which amounts to the same thing... I'm a sucker for dramatic skies!

A bit like Kennedy Avenue here. Right now there is a trend towards overbig houses (my opinion) and many build above the garages for workshops of family rooms. I like cozier.

@joansmor These are detached buildings Joan - perhaps 50 metres from the house.

Dramatic skies indeed... I love this shot, and I really like the way the sky makes this pop. I need to go learn some more about processing I think...
