...this is for the '30 days wild' challenge and shows wild grasses growing among the wheat ears in the field behind our garden.
This is another of those shots that look good on black...
(This was supposed to be a macro image of a damsel fly... but guess who spent 30 minutes 'photographing' with no memory card in the camera. Only my Sony Nex 6 & 7 let you do this - they even show you the 'shot' image on the rear screen just to lull you into a false sense of security! And no, it's not the first time it's happened :-( Luckily, once I realised my error, I still had time enough to dash outside just before dusk to replace the missing images... using a Nikon!)
My Nikon won't let me do that, but I seldom have it out as the only way I know to up load is to connect the camera. I don't have a card reader. Thank goodness. It would probably be like the batteries. You know damselflies abound on the site but pictures like this are more rare. (do you feel any better)
Lovely shot! The Nexs must be nostalgic for the days of film. I shot what I thought was a roll of what might be a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Old Saurum in 1975 when the sprockets hadn't engaged with the take up reel!
@joansmor You don't have a card reader on your laptop? I thought that all the ones produced in the last few years had them. I was sorry about the Damsel Fly because I thought that I had the best image I've ever taken of one, but it did enable me to practice my ad-hoc photography skills!
@vignouse There is place for one but no I don't have one. I wasn't into photography other then PS camera when I brought this computer. I had problems with card reader on my old laptop and used the from camera to laptop and preferred that method. Might get a card reader on my next one.
This is beautiful Richard - I am rather partial to weed silhouettes :) my Nikon won't work - lets you know (takes my brain a couple of times before it registers lol) if there's no card.
I have been trying to photograph grasses too, but without your success! I would never have included the sun in such a shot (and mostly not in any shot…. something from way back tells me that it is against the rules! Perhaps it's because I'm a b/w person!) Anyways, this is lovely… and I'll keep trying!
This is a lovely shot, with beautiful light and DOF. I like the sun in the shot, very much. I am glad my camera tells me I lack the card... otherwise, I would be likely to do what you did, too.
