Rue aux Anglais, Malestroit. by vignouse

Rue aux Anglais, Malestroit.

Had a ride out on the new motorbike this afternoon and visited the quaint little Breton town of Malestroit (pronounced 'mal-ay-twa'). I like this little street with its half-timbered buildings - it translates as English Street!

Views best on black, I think...
So what motorbike have you got??? You can go down this lovely old alleyway in your new machine?

What fun to be a photographer on a motorbike! It can take you wonderful places, clearly as I love this scene. Great b&w processing too!

@maggiemae I could have ridden down but I walked. You can see the new toy here http://365project.org/vignouse/365/2015-07-03

@taffy Thanks Taffy - I've photographed home, garden and the surrounding area to death so part of the motivation for getting the bike (apart from the fact that I'm an unrepentant hooligan) was to travel further afield for photographic motivation.

@vignouse And you needed a motorized one of course, because with all the gear and stuff you have to haul, a regular bike wouldn't make sense!

You find the greatest places to photograph and then add fantastic processing. I an just in awe of your work! Instant fav!

Love this scene. I want to walk down the road to see what else is there. Fav

@taffy There you go, you understand perfectly... now if you could just explain to Mrs S why despite having two state-of-the-art pedal-cycles I needed to have a new motorbike, I would be in your debt!
July 9th, 2015
@vignouse It'll never happen...I probably would side with Mrs. S -- and worry about the dangers of the motorbike, truth be told! Except with photography, I find myself going into things I would have never dreamed...a motorbike perhaps?

Something out of a fairy tale. Beautiful work :)

Wonderfully captured, processed! Stunning image

Beautifully captured

Excellent shot and processing

I love the composition and what a beautiful street! What kind of motorcycle did you get? I ride a Triumph Daytona on occasion.
July 10th, 2015
What a pretty scene! Great processing!
July 10th, 2015
It does remind me of my idea of and old English street. How does it work to carry to camera on the bike?
July 10th, 2015
Great shot of this quaint street, nice pov, textures
July 10th, 2015
Yet another B&W masterpiece... and yes, I again recognized it as yours immediately. Fav!
July 10th, 2015
OMG, I just love this shot. It just draws the viewer directly down the lane. You wonder what is around the corner. Your processing, as always, is detailed and spot-on. Your new "toy" is coming in handy, to get you out to spots like this. :)

Such a great photo! You are a very talented photographer. I love every photo you take. Fav

Fantastic, like something you might imagine in a book
July 10th, 2015
How gorgeous. I never tire of your glimpses into French towns and streets.
July 10th, 2015
NIce - looks so good in b&w. Neat composition.
July 10th, 2015
Wonderful! Going back into time a few centuries!

@ingrid_marianna A Daytona? I'm impressed! That's a machine that was built for the race-track rather than the road. I've had my fair share of 'hooligan' bikes, but with speed cameras everywhere and the somewhat unpredictable behaviour of certain drivers, all-out riding on the road is a thing of the past for me. I could never ride a 'shopping-bike' though... you can see my new machine here: http://365project.org/vignouse/365/2015-07-03

@flashster78 You're far too kind Lorraine. You wouldn't have been able to say the same thing 18 months ago when I started on here, so any progress I've made is as a result of 365. There are some really good photographers on here who provide inspiration and encouragement.

@joansmor I haven't worked out how I'm going to take out cameras on a regular basis... I think I need to settle on a bike kit and arrange a camera bag to hold it all. I guess I should sort out something with my Sony Nex cameras as they and their lenses are small and light. For yesterday I found an old camera case (I never use one normally) and put my Nikon D5100 in it so that it wouldn't be damaged rattling around in the top-box.

So wonderful with all the different textures of stone and wood.

I am back after a very patchy few weeks, with lots of family commitments, but looking forward to catching up with my 365 friends... I love this image. It is instantly recognisable as French to me and works so well in monochrome. Fave.

Lovely rendition of this classic little street. Fav
July 10th, 2015
How do you like the new bike so far? This is magnificent - fav!
July 10th, 2015
all my comments have already been made, but I am enjoying the concept of a former hooligan.
July 10th, 2015
@francoise Mrs S would probably wish to take issue with the use of the term 'former' ;-))
July 10th, 2015
Beautiful capture - I love the detail in the buildings and that soft light.
July 10th, 2015
Beautiful
July 10th, 2015
Fabulous little street. I'd love to walk around here.
July 10th, 2015
@vignouse That is a sharp looking bike! In Colorado we have some good and fun roads (without speed cameras) and I am good friends with a motorcycle riding police lieutenant. I save any real silliness for the dirt bike though- much safer that way.
July 11th, 2015
Love this b& white!
July 11th, 2015
Love this image.
July 11th, 2015
always love those narrow streets and alleyways :)
July 11th, 2015
Beautiful capture of a "place" with that line leading your eyes through it.
July 11th, 2015
Beautiful detail. The little D5100 did you proud.
July 12th, 2015
@frankhymus It's found a new vocation, fitted with the Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8, as the 'bike camera'!
July 12th, 2015
oh to wander down such a street - beautifully composed and processed Richard - i love the different lines and textures in the buildings
