NF-SOOC-2015 - Day 2: Toadstool and Pinecones by vignouse

NF-SOOC-2015 - Day 2: Toadstool and Pinecones

This is my second image for NF-SOOC-2015. What's that all about? Well it's a repeat of a challenge I set myself for September 2014 - and many of you, my fellow 365ers, joined me - to shoot only with a 50mm (or equivalent) lens in September and to post all images as they came out of the camera without any other processing or cropping.

I found it enormously fulfilling last year and I learned so much that I have decided to repeat the exercise for September 2015. You can read about it here - http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/26200/back-to-basics-nf-sooc-2015

How about joining me?
Striking image and detail is breathtaking. Fav, Sir. Will try this and thank you

Wow Richard, its tack sharp. Buddy if I get that low on the ground in public they will be calling emergency personal. SOOC that is almost like asking a lady to go out in public without makeup. This may get very ugly before it gets better. Looking forward to the challenge. Thank You.

Lovely perspective and a fav. I really enjoyed the last time you sponsored this event and I will seriously consider joining you again later in the month, after I finish my current series.

Wonderful perspective and dof.

Beautiful. You might just inspire me to pull out my 50mm for a month. That is, after this friday since I'll be shooting Friday Night Fireworks for the last time this year.

This is great, and I love your idea. I may well post a few, over the month. I don't have a full frame however, so I suppose I should be using 35mm on my 28-135 lens, rather than use my 50mm prime lens?

Fabulous shot, focus, dof

Great shot!!

So beautiful, Richard

@jamibann Hi Issi - I think the experience and the learning to be had from this challenge comes from the discipline of shooting always with the same focal length and composing the image entirely at the point of capture. Certainly a 50mm focal length on a cropped sensor camera is the full-frame equivalent of a 75 or 80mm lens and the images you post will reflect that... but all the rest holds good - so shoot away and join us - and why not use the 50mm for it's wide aperture and the zoom set at 35mm for the spirit of the challenge.

Wonderful composition, dof, and clarity. You certainly raise the bar with these kind of images for your challenge. I love Joan's comment!
