Some days you're lucky...

...and your 365 image comes to you - sometimes you have to work for it!

Best viewed on black!
There have been days when I leave home which a photo in my mind and come across something completely different that surpasses what I had in mind! This definitely looks better against black FAV!

Wonderfully composed and photographed Richard. Great reflections

@tosee Thanks Tom - I thought this worked best with a 'betting hand' rather than an outright winner or loser ;-)

I like the reflections, your surface is really nice - what did you use?

@btwebb Thanks Barbara... this was shot on black plexiglass which works well for low key images, and I use white plexiglass if I'm looking for a higher register.

excellent on black

My plexiglass got scratched too easily, I replaced it with a black marble tile

Gorgeous reflections. One game we don't have! Poker-dice. Sounds like a great lesson in statistics and strategy for the kiddos.

Fabulous reflections - love the way the dice stand out against the black. I too use a black marble tile..more resilient.

Viewed on black, it is as if the dice are hanging in the air. Lovely shot.

@dibzgreasley Hi Debs - yes, you're right, a 'constructed' still-life is not something I normally do. But after two years, when you're surrounded with fields and 20,000 acres of forest and the local village has only 250 inhabitants, you've done it all several times already and I don't always have time to get in the car and go looking for new things to photograph. I guess I have some decisions to make at the end of this year!

Gone old school with your play. BUt stunning results with your photography.

@vignouse Oh I know that feeling. My comment wasn't a criticism, just an observation. I do a lot of this kind of work when I cannot get out and about and I think its useful because it forces me to find something in the mundane. Please don't leave 365, we would miss your wonderful work and pretty views of France.
