NF-SOOC-2017 Day 12: From water to wheels...

Candes-Saint-Martin, while best known today for the Collégiale church of St Martin, owed much of its prosperity in times past to its position at the confluence of the River Vienne and the River Loire. Every 200 metres or so there is a stone-stairway linking the river with the main street; a linking point between local and national distribution - this is a typical example.

This is Day 12 of my annual NF-Sooc-September challenge: a month of sooc pictures taken with a 50mm lens or its equivalent for crop-sensor cameras. You can read all about it here - https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/30294/nf-sooc-september-2017
