Paimpont 2018: Day 62 - Requiem for an Amaryllis 2
This is a follow-on from yesterday's post of the withered remains of our last Amaryllis bulb - https://365project.org/vignouse/365/2018-03-02 - I was amazed at how many of you also see the beauty in dead flowers.
Today's image is of an earlier bulb which died off a few weeks ago - it's the form and the tonal gradations that I find attractive and, for me, they reproduce best in B&W.
I like this best on black, but I've given it a frame for those who prefer to view on white...
Great shot love all the different textures. My wife always looks at me gone out when I ask her not to throw out dead flowers as I want to photograph them!
stunning on black. b&w most certainly brings out the beautiful structure and textures here. it looks like a botanical illustration. our kitchen has been full of dead-ish tulips for several days and everyone knows not to throw them out until i've had my fill
It reminds me of 'the sedge has withered from the lake and no bird sings'. La Belle Dame Sans Merci by John Keats. All meaningful life has ceased, just spectacular!
wonderful in texture and gestures
is doing very well in front of the white background
