When I was a stripling, the IOM Steam Packet boat used to stop here going to and fro Belfast, with passengers alighting and/or going on board. This was just minutes' walk from where we lived.
It's interesting the the cross-members of the piers line up exactly and in most places cover the horizon. I wonder if that was intentional or a happy accident. I notice that I'm not the only commenter who noticed that.
