Paimpont 2018: Day 220 - Ruined Farmhouse...

...this was once a family's home and livelihood - now, the family are long gone and even the memories are crumbling away.

On black please...
great mood, suits the scene..

Fabulous

Sadly there are many such houses in this area...abandoned, unwanted yet teeming with local history. Young people want mod cons, to be close to work, retail outlets and entertainment.

wonderful!

Nice shot, great detail. No flare. I assume this is the 50 ml F2? I have never shot it if so. Curious if you shot this in Acros setting?

The clarity in this shot pops on black...well done.

This has a feeling of abandonment. Nicely done.

I do hope it can be restored one day.

Very evocative, I like it.

We pass and only the walls remain. The passing time teaches humility. Your capture show it well.

oh that roof in the back section - superb light!

How atmospheric!

It makes me a little sad looking at this. You wonder about the history, imagine the laughter and people once here and wonder where they have gone......

@pickerandagrinner Hello Louis - this lens is actually the 7Artisans 35mm f/1.2. It was shot at about f/5.6 - there are no click-stops on the aperture ring and the scale is rather cramped after f/4 so it's difficult to be sure. The lens will flare, mainly because it doesn't come with a lens-hood - I must get myself an aftermarket one.

@onewing It won't happen Babs - it would be much cheaper to buy/build a brand-new modern one.

@pickerandagrinner Forgot to answer all of your question... this was taken on my old Xpro-1 which doesn’t have Acros and in any event, this is not the B&W Jpeg but the raw colour file converted in Lightroom to recover missing tonal structure.

@vignouse Ah...The lens registered as 50 in exif. Maybe you had the setting for shoot without lens at 50ml....Impressive results. Adobe just released a Raw Conversion that better renders colors in LR....I was always a bit disappointed with Fuji colors especially skies out of the camera, this Adobe update helps to my eye....

@pickerandagrinner I did indeed choose to have the setting for 'shoot without lens' at 50mm as the 35mm is effectively a 50mm FF equivalent.
