Paimpont 2018: Day 249 - Trees and Telephone Poles

For once I'm not going to spend ages editing out the telephone poles and cables because it was precisely the interplay between the poles and the pollarded trees - both silhouetted against the stormy sky - that attracted my interest.

PS: Mrs S calls these 'Microbe Trees'!

Yes, yes... it's BoB!
I like the contrast of the wire's horizontal line with the trees' vertical line.

Tom
I love those trees, fantastic shapes against the stormy skies

This has an eerie, otherworldly feeling to it.

the old and the new - I agree there is often an eerie or otherworldly feel to your images that always draws me right in

VML these Toothbrush and Hearing Aid Brush trees. Whilst appearing to be apart from 'other' trees...i VML how they serendipitous they are and do their own thing.

Nothing better than tree silhouettes against a stormy sky, the shapes here are particularly interesting.

Sometimes I like the wires too

This is fantastic. The telephone poles work great in my opinion, the whole scene has a sense of abandonment.

@nitrogene @koalagardens @randystreat Eerie and otherworldly sounds like a great compliment to me - thank you all.

Great shot of this stormy weather and those trees!

... and clouds, don't forget those! They are important in complementing the strangeness of the scene. As for editing out poles and stuff, well....! They are a species of tree, also give scale and also look weird as is appropriate here. Great pic! Fav for sure!

@yrhenwr I'll tell you a secret - the clouds over the left hand tree were created in post to cover a big white burned out hole created by the setting sun behind thin cloud ;~}

Ah - a good decision - still get the light from the sun. Strange trees - rather out of the world stuff!

@vignouse Horror of horrors! But congratulations on making such a good job of it!
