This appears to be turning into a mini-series as here's another view of Les Forges which follows on from yesterday's pic - https://365project.org/vignouse/365/2019-01-09. For this image I was standing in front of the ruined farmhouse (but it's for sale if you want it) to the right of yesterday's post and looking north. Here we have the village chapel (disused) on the left and a pigsty (equally disused) on the right: the building in the middle is a private chapel built in 1540 - the oldest in the commune. Yesterday's cottages are just behind the pigsty as evidenced by the chimney.
I love the weathered, uncared for look of this image. There's lots of texture and despite extreme contrast, there's enough different patterns to set each building, tree and cloud apart from another.
@domenicododaro I don't know but I would guess it's unsaleable as you wouldn't be able to do anything to it which would change the essential character of the building.
I too love the weathered look and would like to be able to preserve it. This is the type of thing I would enjoying seeing if I ever got the chance. Love all the history. If these buildings could talk I like to hear what they are saying. Fav
that pigsty had me just staring at it - something so poignant about it. You are so right that buying it would be a nightmare as you would be bound to preserve it in a way that I imagine could become quite a pocket burner! But the image is spectacular.
