FORF13 - Same Subject 3: Knight

For my single subject I've chosen the White Knight from a replica copy of the 12C Isle of Lewis chess set... let battle commence!
He looks so forlorn.

@taffy He knows the battle must be fought but he also knows that, this time, Black will win.

Great lighting and details...He does look a bit jaded.

Both Sir Knight and his trusty steed look like maybe, just maybe this battle is lost already, PoV really emphasizes this very well.

there is something quite striking about him :)

He's not a happy chappy is he? Works for the challenge though.

He looks as if he's had a sleepless night worrying about the future of the inevitable battle...or too much moonshine?

he does look more resigned than bloodthirsty - great pov and lighting

He does look serious but also a little sad.

Not a happy horseman!

Love the pov. I think he looks fierce and is ready for a hard fight!

This knight doesn't look as if he is enjoying his ride! All hunched down and half asleep!

Took a peek at your excellent calendar- so many fantastic black and whites there! I love your subject matter this week- so expressive and perfect for the challenge. It really catches my eye that you have selected a black background to feature him too- makes me wish I'd chosen a subject to do that with!

@olivetreeann Ann, the silly thing is that it's actually a white background but Mr Adobe is doing the heavy lifting.

If my B&W pics are pleasing... the credit belongs to you! I did this challenge for the first time in February 2014 just one month after I started my project and the prospect of doing a whole month of B&W petrified me... these days I'm terrified if I have to do too much colour, although I can usually just about manage a couple each month!

Just catching up with these...great to see so much done with this subject...my fav so far is the 2nd one.

@vignouse Well then I am both honored and pleased to have inspired this aspect of your photography! I felt the same way the first month I did entirely in black and white. Although I'm still rather eclectic when it comes to my project, I am seriously trying to improve my "black and white eye" all the time. I get as much out of this month as all of you do! Thanks again Richard!

@olivetreeann 2016 was perhaps my most enjoyable year when I did my OCOLOY project - One Camera One Lens One Year. An entire year with a fixed 35mm (equivalent) lens, all pictures captured in B&W and posted SOOC with no editing whatsoever... I thoroughly recommend it - so much so, I think I'll do another one.

The emotion this sends out, somewhat different to each person, is amazing.
