Two flowers, two bees.... very lucky or very patient! Lovely shot, very nicely composed and processed. Fav.
I'm missing so many b&w flower opportunities with my preoccupation with the holiday snaps! And the flower shots I have done have been in colour. Strange territory in which I find myself! Also I've had my Lumix G9 for over 6 months and don't like it even with the Leica 12-60mm lens! Once more I find myself close to giving it all up!

Perfect! Love this composition.

@lostphojo Very lucky! I saw the second hover-fly land and thought 'there's lucky'! There were 5 blooms in the uncropped shot and it was only when I saw it on the computer that I realised the potential. Serendipity in action!

I've struggled all year too... but I'm still here - just. The year that I enjoyed the most was when I did my OCOLOY project - if I last to the end of the year I might have another go at that as my swansong.

What don't you like about the G9?
July 16th, 2019
@vignouse Your OCOLOY project was very good. I guess a clearly defined brief helped.. I have thought of something similar but have rejected the idea because I'm such a 'butterfly' (always flitting from one thing to another) that I can't see myself staying the course!
As for the G9 its mainly an unsatisfactory tactile thing. Mind you, not much will satisfy me these days because of the lack of feeling and general unreliability of my fingers. I had no need for acamera with a relatively small sensor and I do get frustrated with the shallow DOF which, of course, I can't get shallow enough, I should have gone in the opposite direction, that is 'full frame'. I couldn't justify that much expenditure when I have so many film cameras... but I didn't really justify the expenditure on the G9 either. Maybe I'll sell it as I did the little Ollie which has gone to a good home where it is much appreciated. He is unlikely to buy the G9 from me because he only likes cameras of quality that he can slip into his pocket!
