...or, perhaps, not so mundane. Mrs S can't abide waste so when a bar of soap is worn to the point that it can no longer be used effectively, the remaining sliver is stuck to the new bar. This bar of soap - temporarily relieved from active duty in the shower room - carries the remains of at least four predecessors on its back... and probably, more like six - it's difficult to count!
If you haven't guessed, this is for the Mundane challenge where the current theme is soap.
ha that's a good idea. and makes for a cool image :) we turned (back) to soap a while back, but this is a further step that we shall take from now on, thanks to mrs s
By trial and error I've discovered/learned that soaking the slivers in tepid water softens the soap, making it much easy to adhere to an existing larger bar or...wait for it...rub the soap 'ends' on a cheese grater or chop into small pieces, soak in tepid water until it's soft, drain and press into a tin, bowl or from whatever receptacle you can easily remove the ‘new soap', let dry, mould in a saucer, bowl etc. Whoopee...surprise soap! You can also add perfume before moulding and/or food colouring to make just a bit more ZANY! Fun awaits you...and great for children. Any excuse to reclaim our inner child!
Thank you! How are you?
