Pretty Flowers... by vignouse

Pretty Flowers...

I took a lock-down stroll around the garden this evening and found these. I've no idea what they are but they sure are pretty. I'm sure someone will be able to put me out of my misery. Update: the 'someone' was Clare @pistache who told me that they are aquilegia.

To be viewed on black... of course.
they're aquilegia, richard. i love them and sprinkle their seeds about each year once they're over. i think some would call them weeds. they're mostly purple, as yours, pink and white and blue. what's not to like? very much enjoy your low-key image which indeed looks fabulous on black

We colloquially call them "columbine" in these here parts. Glad you posted: I've got to climb up in the woods and see if I caught the wild ones this year.

Not too sure of their botanical name but I'd call them Granny's Bonnets.

A lovely close up of these flowers. We call them Columbine. The botanical genus name is aquilegia like @pistache said in here comment.

I'd have called them Columbine too, so I'm glad to see that others would do the same. A beautiful image on black - so vibrantly purple!
