...both physically and metaphorically for the 7th of September. This is box ticking since I learned that skipping a day leads to skipping a week and then a month and then several months... frighteningly quickly.
How and when did time become the most valuable commodity in our lives?
Time is nonexpandable. To get more time to do one thing you have to give up time spent on something else. It takes a lifetime to realize that. I am lucky in that my photo hobby feeds my scrapbooking hobby. And posting here motivates me to take more pictures for my scrapbooking. Also, photography is my stress reliever. When I am out seeing the beauty hidden on the back roads then my BP goes down. But I figured out a long time ago that I am not someone who can take a picture every day and post it. Luckily there are no 365 police issuing warnings.
As someone who has been skipping whole months for years now, I appreciate the dilemma---both loving photography and taking photos AND realizing that I just cannot make it happen each and every day any more. Inspired to dip my toes back in, even if now and then.
@adi314 I reduce the highlights one stop in camera and boost the shadows two stops and then underexpose, usually 2/3 of a stop but it depends on the camera.
I appreciate what you're saying. There are days when I'd like to skip, and have, but they are few and far between exactly because I'm afraid it would be too easy just to stop.
Beautiful capture, how do you get your blacks so black sooc, I'm unable to do it, but I guess I will have to play with the settings in my camera.
Thanks for the reminder about skipping days. Too easy to skip more.
Regarding the question about time being the most valuable commodity... a very good theme to ponder on.
