A Year of Days - Day 319: Remembrance Sunday

Today is Remembrance Sunday in France and also the first of three days of National Mourning for those who died in the tragic events in Paris on Friday 13th November. This picture showing the 1st World War soldier on Paimpont's War Memorial and the Tricolour at half-mast French fashion brought tears to my eyes even as I took it.
j'aime beaucoup cette photo, moi aussi elle me fait monter les larmes aux yeux.

What a gorgeous photo and such a wonderful sentiment! fyi: The tag on 365 actually doesn't include a # so it's just "saynotoviolence".

@mackbeth Thanks Beth - I've corrected the tag.

Have never seen this half-mast style. Makes for a poignant shot as death can tie us up. Also because man cannot learn from history and so the wars go on.
