NF-SOOC-September - Day 8: Château de Chinon - 2

This is my tenth image for NF-SOOC-September - you can read more about it here: http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/23475/back-to-basics-who-s-up-for-a-big-challenge-in-september

The 'blue hour' picture of this château that I posted on the sixth, gave rise to some debate about the quality of the image sooc. I thought that some of you might be interested to see what the château looks like in daylight, albeit in monochrome.
Stunning image against the black - love the detail in the trees and the reflections too

Lovely image Richard, it looks great in b&w. Can cameras take pictures in black and white? Mine always come in colour so perhaps I'm missing something. Not to worry. I hope today's shot from me meets the challenge!

you've done amazing - such discipline

@ceilidh If you look in the 'picture styles' menu (or some similar wording) of your camera, you will find options like portrait, landscape, standard, vivid... and among the should be a monochrome option or several and perhaps a sepia one.m

Looks great in B&W. Only day 8 still a long way to go.

Great layers, reflection, and looks great in b&w.

This is nice to see, but I really loved the magical quality of the color one and I loved it unprocessed. Saw Franks and thought it lost that quality.

I like this one, too. Such a different feel from the color and just as pretty. I like very much the comp with the towers spaced evenly on in the frame. I've had to work a lot on the comp through your challenge since I can't crop!!

and this is a lovely composition

Nice, but I definitely prefer the painterly look of the 'blue hour' shot.

I like this in B&W, but the blue gave a nice effect and a bit more depth, I think - Lucy
