It has been throwing it down all day to day... and still is. Impossible to venture out even for a few seconds without getting soaked to the skin, so I was certainly not going to risk taking a camera outside. This was taken on my way back from the Supermarket this afternoon when I stopped the car for a few seconds on this little country lane... best I could manage for today.
This image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my post for 1 January and in my profile.
@jocasta Ah, Joy... you're a temptress! But it won't surprise you to learn that I had already tried a few 'tweaks'... it took a lot of resolve to go ahead and post the 'sooc' version :-/
this is nice... i've experimented with using a rainy window as a filter before... never got one as lovely as this... didn't you just desperately want to crop the bottom a bit? ;)
@northy Yes and no! I would have had to crop off not just rhe bottom of the windshield but also the reflections and it would then have been a very different image... at least like this it is clear that it was taken from a car. I did try some with the (blurred) windshield wipers in view but the image was then not blurry enough. I was leaning as far forward as I could to cut out the car's interior - ideally I would have used a focal length of 50mm. Bottom line, this is a learning exercise; if I also get a nice image from time-to-time, that's a bonus.
So the Fuji 100T isn't weather sealed then, Richard? :-) I confess to coveting your X100T, but it would be no good to me as a go anywhere camera here on the wet and windy west coast of Wales! I like this shot very much... maybe I'm going all arty! I even wondered how it looked in colour! Maybe I need a lie down! :-)
@yrhenwr The rumoured replacement for the X100t (X200 - to be announced at Photokina in the Autumn?) is said to be weatherproofed, but this one isn't. Sorry if I disturbed you while you were having your lie-down 💤
Richard thank you for your kind comments on my sisters photo.
