OCOLOY Day 131: Fishing at Trégu Lake

This, as I subsequently discovered, is Joël indulging himself in his favourite pastime. He's a retired baker/patissier and is quite a character.

As always, this image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.

View on black if you can...

Wonderful scene, looks a lovely place to spend the day. Great B&W, and like you say well worth looking at against black.

@jack4john Used to fresh- water fish when I was a youngster and did a fair bit of sea-fishing later. I still have all my kit but, as you say, the only fishing I do now is to find the perfect shot. (I'm still fishing for that!)

This is beautiful Richard, the light and reflections are wonderful. I struggle when it comes to b&w images with a lot of greenery, may I ask what settings you had on your camera as in film simulation, highlights, shadows etc.
May 12th, 2016
@ukandie1 Hi Andie - thanks for your comments. I think we all struggle with greenery in B&W; I usually find that my images look far too busy - this one only works, I think, because of the large expanse of water.

This was shot using my standard settings for the X100T:

- BR
- DR Auto
- WB Auto
- H +1
- S +2
- NR -1
- Sharp +1

Hope this helps...
