OCOLOY Day 177: The Remains of a Life

I knew the old man whose cottage this was. He lived here alone, was rather frail, had no family and lived in very reduced circumstances. Then he died...

As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.

On black is best I think...
Amazing photo! It's sad and strong. My compliments Richard!

What a sad story. Even without the background, your picture evokes a story of its own.

How tragic. The detritus of life. My mother always said "growing old is not for the faint of heart."

Nice capture, but a sad story. No family and no one..... I can't imagine how sad and depressing that had to be.

Abandoned houses always make me feel sad, wondering what happened to the people who lived there, and to the lives they had planned when they moved into those houses, bought those dishes, placed that cloth on the table...

Terrific photo of this terribly rundown cottage...sad for the old man

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust...how transitory and brief are lives are. Poignant indeed as already mentioned.
