Every two years in our area, the art society Etangs d'Art - 'Pond Art' - creates art installations in various lakes and ponds around the area - I've featured them in my project before.
This curiously named installation in the Lac du Tremelin is by Benjamin Testa and consists of 50 separate wooden elements which are, effectively, the 'bones' of a volume - of 40.3m3 in this case. Each module is rotated by 2 deg with reference to the preceding one around a sinusoidal axis.
The proportions of each element are the same as those of a standard door. The whole forms a sort of corridor set in motion by a torsion of 90 deg.
This art installation is both a passageway in which we might immerse ourselves and from the exterior may be viewed as a bridge formed by a succession of large steps.
As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
Another that benefits from being viewed on black, I think.
An interesting structure, no doubt one that creates conversation and encourages people to visit and take photos. I think you've taken a good shot of it for your OCOLOY project. fav
Interesting structure. We will be in Normandy and Brittany in September, will these installations still be around at that time, would love to see some of them.
@judithdeacon Yes Judith, you will still be able to see them. They're all in or around our area so if you do come, be sure to let me know via a tagged comment. You can download a brochure here: http://etangsdart.fr/
Great B&W shot of it.
