As part of Paimpont Abbey's annual summer cultural season we hold two concerts each week; classical and/or liturgical music on Sunday evenings and traditional Breton and/or Celtic music on a mid-week evening. I'm on duty at the Abbey all this week so it fell to me to welcome the musicians this evening and help them set up for their performance. Here's the Abbey just as the audience started to arrive... isn't this a great venue for a concert?
As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
Nice with the instruments just waiting to be played... you've got the exposure just right, getting detail on the audience, but keeping the highlights in the ceiling. I'm a bit jealous - I struggle with this kind of thing!
I imagine the monks from former times would be delighted to know that you can 'spot' the quality of the acoustics from a photo! Indeed they are superb. It's a privilege and a pleasure to worship in this church and to be involved in its daily life within the community.
