OCOLOY Day 233: Poor Peach Crop Predicted

The very changeable weather we've had this year - all four seasons in one day sometimes, it seems - has not been kind to the garden and the fruit trees in particular are suffering. Our small peach tree on the bank opposite the house usually belies its stature and produces around 1,000 fruits. I doubt there are a fifth that number this year and what there are are are small and still hard: a lot of the leaves have already fallen too.

As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
Lack of rain is our problem. Not looking forward to Fall.

Too bad for the eaters. We've purchased some very tasty peaches at the farmers' market this summer.

Peaches around here have seemed scarce and small too although I don't have any trees of my own to judge by, just what is on offer at the market...the ones I've had were good and juicy but small and kind of scruffy looking on the outside.

Not good here, either...

Our fruit trees are a disaster this year! No cherries. Hardly any apples. No pears. :-( Nice shot!

@jamibann Ours too! I did a check just before I left on my current girly jaunt and was shocked by how little bounty might come to fruition. A timely reminder that whilst we can't rule Nature, we do seem to have interfered enough to influence it to bad effect.

What a shame! Image speaks that despair

@kevin365 Thanks Kevin, that's exactly what I was trying to capture with this image.
