OCOLOY Day 280: Bedroom Rose by vignouse

OCOLOY Day 280: Bedroom Rose

This is another in my occasional series of glass/water/window images: each one was unplanned being simply a reaction to what caught my eye at a given moment.

As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.

Has a touch more presence viewed on black I think...
It looks lovely. Fav.

Nice use of lighting to silhouette the rose. Though I think I'd like a little more definition in the flower.

@taffy I agree and I tried it but the background then blows out in an ugly fashion so I preferred it this way - if I was processing of course, it wouldn't be a problem... but I'm not, so choices have to be made!

You know what I am learning from your project - not to beat myself up when I can't get the perfect picture before processing. Because if you can't do it what am I to expect. Neat how you focused on the glass and the window is in focus there but out of focus in the background.

I love the old dresser with the mirror in the background

It would be good if we did get a black rose! This one is easily identified as a rose!

c'est très réussi FAV!

I like it in silhouette and I also like the hint of the bedroom space behind it.

Wonderful!

VML this serendipitous rose. Serendipitous as it was a gift and sadly this stem caught whilst putting the plant in the car. Decided that a blossom hanging by a slender thread...was not a rose by any other name, rather R's shot for the day. Mishaps can be beneficial. QED.

Beautiful sense of romance here with the Rose & blurry bedroom detail.

Nicely done. Like the hint of the interior you're giving with the close-up. Making the most of the 35mm field of view.

I was drawn to the rose since it is sharp but then went down to the inverted images in the water, nicely done. I do agree with TaffyR that just touch more definition in the rose might be needed.

Perfect!

Really clever. I see the silhouette of rose first but there are other interesting elements to enjoy in this image.
