OCOLOY Day 344: Handiwork by vignouse

OCOLOY Day 344: Handiwork

This is an art installation at La Gacilly where we spent some time today. There are a number of plaster hands holding a cord attached to an egg: as the weather erodes the plaster, the sculpture reacts dynamically - it's purpose is to demonstrate the interdependence of man and his environment. I liked it at the beginning of its artistic career!

As usual, the image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.

Only one way to view this ;-))
I like how the dof and composition does just enough to hint at the series.

Excellent composition, as always. A little creepy, in a way....

Wonderful focus

Spot on focus. It's a shame to go to that trouble to have it be destroyed.

Great focus, dof

I find this very unnerving (in a good way). Strong composition.

Most impwessive! This was/is a most interesting sculpture, not least as each hand...sometimes the left, others the right...holds the thread in a different way. It's ingenious. It made me think about doing some *more hand selfies. We'll see?!

*First effort was IMG_3287.JPG

I like the way the hand is isolated by light and dof. Still found myself trying to work out the background though.

Very interesting concept and a lovely image.

interesting concept - it's a little unsettling which is a good thing. It's a shot that certainly evokes a response!
