PLAY February - Fuji 18mm f/2: La Gacilly

A view of the town looking across the River Aff. The white buildings to the right are the Tourist Office and the Maison de la Photographie, reflecting the fact that each summer La Gacilly is home to the biggest outdoor photographic exhibition in France.

This is for my PLAY project - you can read more about it in my profile - where I'll be using a different prime lens for each month of the year: for February it's the Fujinon 18mm f/2 on an APS-C sensor camera (today the Fuji X-Pro1) - the equivalent of a 28mm lens on a full-frame camera.

This is also for the Flash of Red 2017 challenge.

View on black if you can...
Love the sky and the tree on the left!

Interesting tree, it almost looks like infrared.

I like the water flow and the layers from water to structures to sky.

Marvelous sense of stories here

Love the B&W treatment. As always, I should say!

Wall to wall drama...the sky was particularly obliging with the streamers. This looks hyperactive compared to my shot from the other side of the bridge.

Glad you are having some sun. Seems like you have had a lot of clouds and/or rain. Beautiful

@ukandie1 I like this tree, it's a Weeping Willow and the 'weeping' branches are a very pale yellowy green colour. They were rather indistinct in the original image so I upped the yellow saturation and luminance which has produced the pseudo IR effect you see here.

Super composition Richard... great sense of the turbulence of the water nicely echoed by the cirrus clouds. Love the weeping willow too, Fav

I can only second David @yrhenwr on the above - an absolute fav.

Wow. Lots of movement in this image: the water, the sky, one would almost guess the breeze was blowing the willow branches around, too.

Beautiful. Fav
