PLAY May - Sony 16mm f/2.8: Interior

I kicked off the month yesterday with a change of lens and a landscape picture having mentioned that the 24mm (effective) focal length I shall be using this month is well suited to landscape photography. This focal length is also ideal for interiors being about as wide as you can go without inducing perspective distortion - this is our sitting room on a rainy day, with Mitzi in residence!

This is for my PLAY project - you can read more about it in my profile - where I'll be using a different prime lens for each month of the year: for May it's the Sony 16mm f/2.8 on an APS-C sensor camera (today the Sony Nex-7) - the equivalent of a 24mm lens on a full-frame camera.

I like this best on black.
A charmingly comfortable looking room and Mitzi has certainly got herself prime position!

Love light and how you captured the ceiling beams as leading lines to the windows.

Like the balance in this. Would be good photo for illustating compositional technique - rule of thirds, leading lines etc.

@desraemelville Thank you - I nearly allowed myself to be seduced by the rich warm tones of the colour version... but, in the end, I thought this had more soul.

You have a great style Richard. I can spot your shots without looking at your name. Love the beam ceiling, light source from the end of the room, pooch on the couch watching the fire. Like a page from a child's book.
