England are out of the World Cup. I was looking forward to the match all day; I even got up quite early so I could get a few chores out of the way. I went to my dad's to watch it, and I sat down in anticipation with a beer in hand as the match kicked off, but England were truly abysmal. Germany got revenge on two counts: for the dubious goal scored in the 1966 World Cup final, as Lampard scored a goal that clearly crossed the line but was disallowed, and for the 5-1 drubbing England gave them in 2001, by beating us 4-1 - the heaviest World Cup defeat for England in history.
Me, my brother and my dad decided to go for a drink afterwards, and I took a few photos of this plant that sits in my parent's front garden before we left.
There's a heavy amount of post-processing here. I think the leaves look almost unreal.
Doing a quick Google search suggests that these are maple leaves. That would make sense as they were quite red in places, which was what caught my eye. If there's any Canadians out there reading this, please confirm!

This is beautiful.
I was also greatly upset by the game today. I couldn't believe it. First the disallowed goal and then getting our asses handed to us 4-1. It's a sad day indeed.
They look like Maple leaves to me. Sorry on the football, I'm sad the US is out too! I can't believe they dont have some way of controlling whether they count if the ball went over the line or not.
