I woke up this morning and it was a bright, sunny day. It's rained almost every day for the past few weeks, so it was a pleasant surprise. It's funny how the sun can change your outlook for the day.
Because of the sunshine I decided to bring my D-SLR to work with me and I went for a walk on my lunch. I took a few photos walking around the park opposite my workplace, and I captured a few shots of the Railway Heritage Centre which is visible from a bridge in the park. However, I took them home and I wasn't really pleased with any of my pictures, so I added an effect in post-processing.
I used a website called tiltshiftmaker.com to make this place look like a toy railway station (thanks Andy Coleborn!) Usually this is done using a tilt-shift lens, which are expensive lenses made specifically for this effect. They basically make what is captured look like miniaturised models or toys.
It's a three-day weekend ahead. It'll be nice having an extra day off. Weather permitting, I'm hoping to go to the Peak District in Derbyshire at some point over this long weekend to take some photos. Lets hope the rain doesn't rear its ugly head and ruin my plans!
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.
