I wanted to set up a brief and simple shoot today. It's the weekend and I wanted to just relax this evening. Invariably however, it took longer than I thought to get the kind of shots I wanted. I basically put a few CDs on the floor and set up my tripod above them, and hoped for for some interesting light refractions from the ambient light.
In post-processing I increased the darkness using Adobe Lightroom, as this helped highlight the spectra on the CDs. I don't think it's the most interesting photo, but I do like the colours.
Over the past couple of weeks I've not planned any shoots. I do better work when I've planned ahead, knowing the type of shots I want that day and/or knowing what location to go to. I've got to get back into that rhythm again as I think my photos are better for it.
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.
