I took a break from my desk this afternoon to do a shoot. I went to the local Heritage Railway Centre, because although I've been there a few times I haven't used my ultra-wide angle lens there yet. I took a few photos focussing mainly on the railway lines.
Once I'd put the RAW file through Lightroom to make my usual adjustments and convert it to a JPEG, I opened it in Photoshop and added a vintage mask. I then reduced the opacity of the mask to 80% so you can still see some colour in the photo. With it being an old railway station, I wanted to achieve an old photo effect.
I struggled choosing between this photo and another one. In case you're interested, here's the photo I almost chose instead ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/vikdaddy/5018065343/). I settled on the one above because it fills the frame better, although I think there's little to choose between the two.
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.
