I still haven't taken a photo of my best friend for this project. Well, I put that right tonight; we went out for a few drinks, so I took a couple of snaps of Tarek.

The background was cluttered in the original picture, so I removed it all in post-processing. I like the simplicity of the shot with the black background.

I met Tarek when I was 18. I was at college and he was a mature student at the University of Nottingham, and we had part-time jobs at a clothing retailer. We just hit it off, despite him being over a decade older than me. It's weird because he wasn't much older than what I am now when we met, but he seemed so much older back then!

Handsome portrait - I agree.... I like most things better on a black background, and Tarek is no exception to this. I think the black background compliments his hair and outfit nicely!
