It's not been a good week, weather-wise. Sunday just topped it off; heavy downpours for most of the day, which meant a shoot indoors. I initially set up an old world globe, a book of World maps from 1946 and a number of other paraphernalia for a still life shoot, but it was too cluttered and I couldn't get a composition I was happy with. In the end I went for simplicity.
I set up a few candles and lit them, and used my tripod to get this shot. In post-processing I did very little tweaking as the photo didn't really need it. I might try the 'old world' still life theme again in the future if I can visualise a decent composition.
I'm back at work tomorrow. I had the past week off, so I went on plenty of shoots and produced some photography that I'm quite happy with. I enjoyed the night shoots I went on, which is something I want to explore further. It's a shame I won't have the luxury of time again from tomorrow.
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.
