I despise waking up early. I'm not an early starter but today I had to publish a Stock Exchange Announcement, so I was at work for 7.30am. I was still tired, but in the evening I went to the inaugural launch party for 'The Bunker', a new web show for the gaming community. I was asked by my cousin to do the photography for the night, so I was personally excited as it's my first event shoot. I took over 400 photos so the editing process will take some time, but when I'm done please visit my Flickr page to view the set ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/vikdaddy/).
This shot was taken using my ultra-wide angle lens so I could fit in the hosts (that's my cousin on the right) and the 100" screen they had in place. Admittedly I'm not a big gamer myself, but my cousin Jag is very passionate and I think he enjoyed organising and hosting the night. 'The Bunker' is still in its infancy, but if you're in to your games and from the UK please join the community on Facebook ( http://www.facebook.com/nottsbunker).
I'm also happy because I've resolved my flash problem. I mentioned in yesterday's post that I was having problems with it because it wouldn't actually do what it's meant to. It turned out that it was the über-cheap batteries I was using, as I used a set of batteries from a reputable brand and they lasted me all night!
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.

@pocketmouse use a reputable brand like duracell or energizer ones. It makes such a difference. It's a false economy using the cheaper ones because you have to replace them so quickly!
