I was back at work today, and I felt like pants. This bleedin' cold is taking its toll. I got home and had a catnap, ate and then had to think about what to shoot this evening. It wasn't what I wanted to think about at that point. I had a few ideas for some wine glass shots, but none of them came off. I actually ended up burning my ironing board cover with one of my ideas - don't ask.
After a frustrating period editing photos I wasn't happy with, I took this photo and was more pleased with this off-the-cuff shot than I was with any of my wine glass photos.
It's of my Canon S90, my compact camera that I take with me almost everywhere. I call it my pocket rocket because there's so much power within its diminutive stature. It's not in perfect focus, but there's something I like about it; I think it's the background.
Can you believe it's 2011? It always takes a while for a new year to sink in - it does for me, at least. I'm hoping this year will be personally eventful. I've got big plans for 2011, you see...
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.

Agreed there's definitely something about this, and... you know, you can't tease us with tales of ironing boards and burnings and say "don't ask"! :P (that was me asking ;)
Great bokeh in the background. I like the fact that its' not very much in focus as well. Also, it looks like you have very soft and smooth hands. I'm sorry if that's weird to comment on.
I think you need to come clean with the ironing board...This camera was one of my options when I was shopping for a P&S but I ended up with the Sony Nex-5...
Love the bokeh and color!
@eyebrows@ashleyjwilson@seattle@chelmck@eileenmabalot Well I used the ironing board as a table for an incense stick. I was going to try something with the smoke and the wine glass, but the stick fell apart as it burned and the remnants very quickly burnt through the cover! I thought with it being an ironing board cover it would be more resilient, but it was not the case...
@idonotsqueak My hands aren't that smooth - I have gym hands, so they're anything but! I softened this image somewhat in post-processing, so my hands look smooth because of it.
Love the bokeh and color!
