First class

Despite the title, today's shot is anything but. I simply took a photo of a corner of a letter that was rubber-stamped, using the reverse macro technique again.

I know it's not great, but I will try harder over the next few days! In post-processing I increased the clarity and contrast, made some curve adjustments to make the darks darker and the lights lighter and increased the brightness.

Tomorrow's photo should be better. It's Nottingham's annual Light Night, which is when many of the landmarks in the city centre will be illuminated. It offers some excellent opportunities for night shots, so I'll be taking my tripod with me in the hope of getting some interesting photos.

Canon 7D, f/0, 1/200, ISO-100
you've certainly got the hang of this reverse lens malarkey

i like it's simplicity actually, it is hard to make art from the simple everyday things and to give them life, this has life

Really Vik, if I compare the shots that I'm proud of to the ones you apologize for, I should just sell my Canon on EBay ;-)

"The pleasure of criticizing takes away from us the pleasure of being moved by some very fine things."

To make it short: I very much like this.

You are far too hard on yourself. I love this photo. I am looking forward to some fascinating night shots from Nottingham's Light Night!

there are no bad photos. there are, however, people who are hard to please. :) would love to have this on my wall.

I think this is great ...I really need to invest in a macro lens the more shots I see the more I want to buy one :)

I like the structure of the paper!

I like it! To take such a usually nondescript subject and make it such a pleasing image is skillful indeed!
