I recently mentioned that a building in the city is being demolished. I couldn't remember what stood there, and a quick Google Maps search confirmed that it was one of Nottingham City Council's offices. I took a quick photo using my compact, in the knowledge that these days a building can be knocked down and redeveloped very quickly.
I would have liked to have got more of the dereliction in the shot but there was a safety barrier blocking much of the view, limiting my compositional flexibility. I brought out the sky in post-processing, decreasing the exposure in that area. I also had to apply some noise reduction as the ISO had to be high, with the evening drawing in.
I spent ages trying to find out what the building used to be called. It turns out I could have just asked Suman, as the site has been purchased by E.ON - an energy company that she works for!

aaaah always sad to see most buildings go.... your shot made it sadder, as it looks like it would have been a nice building against that sky captured....
