My latest book came in the post today. Embarrassingly, I've not bought a new book in a while, which correctly suggests that I've not read one in a while either. I used to be a voracious reader, but I haven't picked up a book as much as I used to. This, in part, is because of this project!
Anyway, I mention this because another busy Saturday has left little time to take a decent photo, so I took one of me and my new book.
In post-processing I decreased the clarity, and added a brown vintage texture in Photoshop.
Schopenhauer was a renowned German philosopher. He was known for being an arch-pessimist - or a realist, depending on your viewpoint. He concluded that desire can never be fulfilled and suggested that materialism will never lead to happiness. Not the most optimistic of reads!
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.

love th shot and processing... like you, I have neglected reading in a looong while... but my friends came to the rescue and I got two books last XMAS..... now am enjoying reading once more....
I LOVE the processing here - looking quite the Schopenhauer yourself. It is one of the best selfies I have seen here (not a fan of them unless it's Heba). Love the tones and soft focus - a fav.
sounds like a good read! I'll have to look him up sometime.
I do book reviews in my spare time on blogger. If you'd like to know more just google My Reading List or go to http://www.continuousreader.blogspot.com/
and it will take you to my current post of 'The Alchemist' by Paulo Coelho.
