The ghost and the bumpy car

Photo taken at midnight plus one minute... so valid for the 08.08!! I took this shot while visiting a fair in Francfort. This is a bumper car, and they were putting smoke with some light show. I took several pictures, and finally selected this one, where the man pushing the bumper car is like a ghost.
Welcome to 365, Vincent! I know you will enjoy your project. This is such an encouraging and supportive community.
This shot certainly demands that a person stop and take a closer, deeper look into it, to examine the various components of it.
The shot blends together very nicely and I do like the ghostly appearance of the man pushing the bumper car,

I think it is pretty intriguing. Looks cool on black. Like the rays of light. Neat capture. Welcome to 365!

It's a picture which requires more than just a glance and the more you look the more you see. Interesting and thought provoking 🙂

Looks better on a black background. Then you can see that there is depth in the picture, and I think that it always interesting.

@laroque @johnsutton @alophoto Thanks for your comments! I am happy to see that the pics indeed provoke an intruguing feeling, not only for me. Thanks also for the advise on cropping. I usually try to avoid cropping, and keep the 3:2 format... (i shoot that photo with a fixed 24mm lense).

does look better on black, just wondering how you processed to black and white, i would try silverefex and play a bit more with getting a larger range of tones to bring out the detail a bit in the shadows

Intriguing -- seems like a double exposure in its abstract representation.

A few rambling thoughts! I agree with the others who have said that it looks better on a black background and that it is an intriguing photograph. At first I thought is confusing to the eye but as I gazed at it on the black background it begun to make more and more sense and indeed beauty. I did wonder if cropping the right side a bit so that the man is more to the right as though he is coming into the picture would improve it even more? But this would need to be done very carefully to get it right as too much of a crop would lose the width and it would lose some of its depth if that happened. Perhaps something to experiment with but on second thoughts, however, I think you have probably got it about right. Well done, a picture to return to again and again I think.
