Door

This door is is the entry to a very small building in a local Churchyard. The graveyard is very remote and body snatching was renowned in the 19th century. Grave-watchers were employed to watch over the graves and used this building. I took many shots of doors today much better than this one but the history caught my attention.
Wonderful narrative to go with your lovely blue door! I enjoy history like this.

Love the shape, colour, brickwork and symmetry. Interesting history too, now who would have thought of body snatching!

It has a nice ecclesiastical shape. Your story contributes to the saying “ the graveyard shift”.

@ludwigsdiana they used to snatch newly buried corpses to sell on for medical dissection. Gruesome but fascinating.

The door becomes more interesting when reading your narrative and your answer to Diana's comment about body snatching.

The color sets this door off for me. And I like the shape. It echos the shape of a church window.
