My first attempt at capturing lightening. Grabbed the camera, twiddled with random settings and clicked all while hanging out of the bedroom window. The storm was quite impressive with sheet lightening and fork lightening.

Fantastic. I've not been able to capture lightening yet. Usually too worried about getting my camera wet, and hanging out the bedroom window, that's commitment - kudos!
@pdulis thank you Peter. Yes a tripod would have even handy but my intention was to go to bed and not take photos. Maybe I should keep the tripod in the bedroom. ;)
You've done well to capture the lightning so well. We had big thunder storms here last night too but I think I was about the only one to sleep through and miss it all.
Bravo! Really impressive first attempt! I haven’t made a serious go at getting a good shot of lightning. But, like someone else said, putting it on my bucket list.
