Storm Barra & High tide by wakelys

Storm Barra & High tide

The sea wall is in front of the benches and the area behind is car park. Webbed feet or wellies needed to enter the pub.
Just a tad soggy! We were under flood threat at High Tide in Scarborough with Storm Arwen. Hope you are warm and dry and toasty again now!

My word. One needs to be desperate for whatever they serve at this pub to make the trip! Terrific capture. Were you in the water too?

They are lucky their outside furniture didn’t float away.

@ankers70 thank you. Great information. A hour after this shot was taken the water was up to the level of the seating on the benches

Oh dear, no Sunday roasts there for a while.

Whew! A good shot of the water and stormy sky. The coastal areas take the brunt of these storms at high tide. I assume that the inn as well as other buildings close to the water had some protection in place to prevent flooding in the buildings.

Did they have a special on freshly caught fish and chips that day
December 8th, 2021
@terryliv I think that the fish swam into the kitchen.
