Good heavens! You're back!!! Well, I think this works really well, the muted greens set off the bright red, no idea how you did that but its fabulous...no HDR !!!
It certainly does. The red against the soft back focus is a beautiful contrast, makes the poppies really stand out. The detail of the front grass is a good texture in front of the poppies and that head just adds to it too. Fav.
@wardie No, I wouldn't take any from the bottom. I think I would take some away from the top actually.
Your focus isn't on the thirds which is generally a good rule to follow. Have you read/heard anything about the golden rule? I'm not sure it would apply here, but it's still good info.
Also, I'm like the only one who said anything and you've got quite a few faves so my opinion probably doesn't matter anyway.
@mstipe Thanks Michelle, your opinion matters loads to me. I've read loads about the rule of thirds and generally try for that but sometimes it's just what my eyes tell me. I do tend to rush photos though and my aim is to try to slow down
I think this is fabulous Paul - well done! I love the pop of the red against the dusky green background. The detail of the grasses in the foreground give it texture and add to the depth. And the simplicity of it is clean and beautiful. Love it - and I'm going to have to fav it :)
