Railroad, Acton, California

My friend and I went geocaching today in the Acton area. It's north of Los Angeles and south of Palmdale. We had beautiful skies today.

I viewed magnified and it is stunning! The curving track, the dramatic sky, the mountains (or are they considered hills where you are?) - all make for a perfect photo. I hope you found treasures while you were geocaching.

@lauriehiggins Thank you. The mountains are just to the right of this shot. What you are seeing would be considered foothills.

Thank you for clarifying that for me, Paul. Foothills in your area look like mountains to people like me who live in a very flat place, but I'm a regular visitor to Vermont, so I knew mountains weren't quite right.

@blindeye Steve, I actually live in Claremont, but I frequent the AV on a number of occasions, usually when I'm geocaching. I was up there yesterday. Great weather and great clouds.

@mtngal Metrolink went through the crossing about 5 minutes after I took this shot. Got photos of the engineer waving to me as he went through the crossing.
