American Robin by webfoot

American Robin

I was walking around Scripps College this afternoon, hoping to get some nice architecture shots, or perhaps something to go with the theme this week. As I was lining up a shot, I saw something out of the corner of my eye that caused me to stop and I spotted this fat robin that has just perched on a branch in an olive tree.

The light was pretty dim, so I had to do some tonemapping with this to bring out the color a little better. So you get a robin instead of some old building today. And this isn't a bad thing. It's probably the first robin I've seen in Southern California in years.

I think it looks best on black.

Lovely robin, Paul! You have obviously mastered tonemapping because I would never guess this was taken in dim light.
