Coming in for a landing

photo 200
My son and I went to the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles today. The had a butterfly pavilion set up and we took full advantage of it today.

I spotted this Anise Swallowtail hovering around these flowers, so I did my best to keep it in focus, because it didn't seem to want to alight on any of the flowers, just over and sip. So it's wings are slightly out of focus, mainly because it was flying while I took this shot.

Please enlarge for detail and because I think it will look better on the black background.

stunning capture - beautiful colors, and while the back wings may be slightly out of focus, the front one is very sharp!

I've found it very challenging to capture this flighty creature. I really like this image!
