Easy Peckings. by wendyfrost

Easy Peckings.

I do not know what these birds are can anyone enlighten me please. They did appear to be a pair and I know they look like sparrows but the male is very speckly and has a white streak over its eye.
Nice capture. Perhaps they are dunnocks or hedge sparrows?

A lovely pair -- I love the little sparrows

Actually I think they are two different birds. The one on the left looks like a female house finch and the one of the right reminds me of a Chipping Sparrow. But I'd have to pull out my bird book to be sure.

@quietpurplehaze @demelo @beryl @olivetreeann I have found out from my nephew who is an ardent bird watcher that the bird on the right is a female Reed Bunting and the bird on the left is a female sparrow. Thank you very much for all your interesting comments .
