Lest We Forget. V.E.Day 8th May 1945. by wendyfrost

Lest We Forget. V.E.Day 8th May 1945.

A sympathy card sent to my mum from The Royal British Legion on the passing of my dad last Tuesday. My dad was a Dunkirk veteran at the age of 19 and returned safely home but a few years later he was wounded which left him disabled. The British Legion have been very good over the years with help and advice and are sending a standard flag bearer to the funeral. The small soldier replica is my keepsake from Dad.
V.E Day marked the end of W.W.2 on May 8th1945.
What an amazing thing Wendy. I am quite moved by this. You and your family will be so proud to have the flag bearer at the funeral. Thinking of you.

You have paid a beautiful tribute here and it will be a very moving sight to see that soldier with the flag at your father's funeral. They played Taps at my father's and it truly moved me. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
