My Birthday on the 21st. -Tomorrow.
The shortest day of the year lasts for 7 hours 49 minutes and 47 seconds in London which is over 9 hours shorter than the June solstice. As such Monday 21st December will be the longest night of the year. The term 'Solstice' derives from the Latin word Solstitium meaning the sun standing still.
Well then! Happy birthday! ๐๐
Since it's such a short time, doesn't it mean you need to celebrate that much harder to get the most out of your special day?! ๐ฅ๐พ I hope you will find time to enjoy!
Happy Birthday my dear , and what a lovely still life to illustrate the winter solstice this year is a special one -as Jupiter and Saturn will align in the night sky to create the 1st Christmas Star in nearly 800 years !!
@wendyfrost, I was researching this for my neighbour but also had you in mind. You CAN spend Christmas with your daughter. This is the official answer to that question of the differing tiers:
"Yes you can.In England existing support bubbles are unaffected by tier four restrictions and the new rules around Christmas mixing. As you live on your own, you can form a support bubble. You can visit them - and stay overnight - even if it means travelling into a lower tier, although the advice is to stay local."
This is because in England, if you have formed a support bubble with another household, that counts as one household.โ
Thankyou very much Casa I was not sure about this but it seems that yes it is ok. I am looking forward to being with them for Christmas day. X @casablanca
@wendyfrost Wonderful! I checked it after you said you thought you might have to spend the day on your own and my neighbour was worried about the same. So glad it is allowed for you to be with your support bubble family! xxx
